I didn’t connect with the characters, and the plot went nowhere. The points it makes about tech companies like Facebook are obvious and better-captured elsewhere (like in Dave Eggers’ “The Circle”). For example: A facial recognition company is sold to A MILITARY DEFENSE CONTRACTOR! Oooh, what a crazy surprise! I can’t believe how boring this novel was. It took me a very long time of having to force myself to pick it back up (I hate not finishing books) and finally I basically skimmed the last 3/4 just to get through it. Not recommended.
