Okayish novel, has little to do with the source material

Might have been okay on its own, but given how the main characters all act completely (and I mean, completely) out of character and how I as a reader just didn't care about the abyss-gazers at all, this novel was not the satisfactory conclusion to the Trisolaris story it could have been. The epilogue was quite a drag, too.
