I was pleasantly surprised by this audiobook pick up. I really enjoy the characters and the story. It was fresh and innovative with its sprinkling of sci fi components (which were very minimal). Some good social commentary on various issues and twists I did not see coming. I thought it was excellent and would recommend, especially for such a short read!
My Murder is a fictional near-future book about five women victims of a serial killer who have been brought back to life as clones to be able to live their lives anew. This book follows the final victim Louise, coping with her own mixed feelings (both her own ongoing and remembered previous self's feelings) about her husband and child that she has been brought back into a relationship with. When she looks further into details of her own murder she finds more mystery than closure.
It's a book about coping with trauma and poking at the edges of horrific events you don't remember any of but everybody around you keenly and awkwardly does. It's also about VR and the public's obsession with serial killers and their victims, as well as the victims exploring their own feelings through VR.
Overall, this was a lot of fun. I appreciated all of the โฆ

Overall, this was a lot of fun. I appreciated all of the different ways these women coped with their new cloned circumstances, and I felt like the mystery itself was well done.
This was a great read but the cover blurb kinda gave away something that is revealed at 60%. Why do publishers do that? There was plenty in the early chapters to come up with a hook. Cloning, the serial killer, VR, post-partum depression, etc.
