Cath struggles to survive on her own in her first year of college while avoiding a surly roommate, bonding with a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words, and worrying about her fragile father.

Cath's love for the Simon Snow series of wizardry novels has gotten her through a lot, but now she faces a challenge even Simon never confronted--freshman year of college. The plot contains profanity and underage drinking.

One of my all time favourite books ♡♡♡

If you're about to start university and are afraid of that big change, make sure to read this book. It helped me so much!

And I just know that I will always come back to this book when there are big changes in my life. Like finishing my degree next year and starting a real adult job. Cath's story makes you feel less alone, it will make you sad and then lift your heart up again. She is such a relatable character, I see so much of myself in her. She's like a geekier version with a better love life but nevermind that ;)
