Do I rate the volume? I don't think I can. I guess, like everyone else, I started reading this a long time ago - 1983, to be precise - when I picked up 'Salem's Lot in a supermarket.
All I have to say is that I don't think the journey was wasted. This is a beautiful ending to a beautiful series.
