3 1/2 and mainly earned through the friends and ending. Still, this just wasn't hitting it the whole way through. It started great and went to just OK.
I got Sam... at least at first but then her questioning and pity party just went too far. Some decent communication from the lawyer wanna be would be nice but instead it is the string along. I got that they were dealing with a really hard situation but once a decision is made... then you plan from there and see where the pieces fit. Here she ignored the biggest piece. Tucker is a saint, but even he goes too far. If you don't voice your expectations then you don't have any. It was just, drawn. out. too. much. I think this is a big problem for me and contemporary romance, the drawn out angst or problems. In this it was months.
So hot and fun at first and then drawn out, with continued contrived non-communication.

I complained that the last book had bad narrators but it really was more the female narrator there. Here it is a different female narrator but she isn't as bad, but isn't good. It is the same male narrator and he is OK. The female narrator, well her male voice is confusing it is so feminine. This is where the POV is 1st person and switches from Tucker to Samantha and when Samantha is narrating, if Tucker talks, it is with Samantha's narration voice. I've seen this done really well, I liked it in Silence Falling of Patricia Briggs, but here they are together too frequently doing the same characters but in different voices.
