An adventure on rails like a bad 70s B-movie. Retain the intelligent, self sufficient group from the first book and promptly make them stupid A leader who has all the ideas and directs the team like puppets because they apparently can no longer function on their own in spite of being successful prior to joining the team.
This book had so many eye rolls and out loud "Really??" moments I was relieved when the epilogue was reached.
Oh! and killing two members of the team for no apparent reasons other than inattention or stupidity in this group of specialized operatives is just ... sigh
I liked the first book in the series even though it was quite light on plot, but this one tough no to give up on. I'll likely get the next one just in the hope it will be a better story with even a smidgen of …
