This was just okay. The story could have been wonderful but I found that it wandered unnecessarily. I do have another novel of Natasha's to read, that should tell the tale with respect to any future reads.
This was a very fun exploration of colonialism, folk lore, and history all blended with state of the art fantasy. While set in the same universe as her earlier work, it is functionally a stand alone. Highly recommended!
