Something's rotten in paradise.

Karin Tidbeck weaves a complicated web stretching across multiple worlds, histories, folk tales and broken utopian dreams that ultimately deals with evil and the power of stories to fight it.

It's interesting to read a sci-fi author from a different culture that also has her own way of interpreting the multiverse and the power of story and imagination.

This book is solidly in the it was okay category. I have a hard time articulating why this book didn't resonate with me when it had all the classic elements of multiverse, fantasy and being a bit out there.

I was waiting for a reveal that this story was an allegory or reaction to the in-world war happening, but even if it was I'm not sure that would have changed my mind.
