This is #2 in the Asey Mayo series. Prue Whitsby is back as narrator. This is a nice, atmospheric mystery that takes place during a blizzard. The host of a house party is poisoned and the killer is obviously one of the guests. However, no one can go anywhere due to the weather, so the killer is trapped. I had a hard time getting the supporting characters straight because they're not as well drawn as in later books. They lack the more colorful personalities you see later in the series. However, this is still a good mystery. This is the most unusual way I have ever heard of to kill someone. Very inventive.
