While I like watching clips of old Dick Cavett Show episodes on YouTube, this collection of NY Times columns from the late aughts was a disappointment. Mainly because Mr. Cavett is — surprise, surprise — problematic as fuck.

The thing that bothered me the most was how fatphobic he was. Then there were the multiple "but he's a nice guy" defenses of people who did shitty things. Pepper in some boomer bullshit and you've got yourself a book, baby.

That being said, the Groucho stories, as always, were solid.
