What are the traces we leave of our fragile and inquisitive lives? Who are we, without the land to bear the marks of our passing? What are we seeking when we try to understand our place in the world?

'Lineage' is a love letter to places which are at once unique and ordinary. It is an inquiry into landscape as palimpsest: the story of a single, unremarkable Cumbrian valley, the people who have left their mark on the places; the marks the place has left on us.
