Review of "Maker's Curse (Millennium's Rule #4)" on 'Goodreads'
2 stars
Not for me. I found it bloated, tedious. It could have been edited down to two books, or even one. The author's descriptions of journeys from world to world are as if someone were to recite their commute from Invalides to St Denis, peering out at each stop to give a hurried description of the state of the platform. The villains (there are two of them) are all-powerful mass murderers, but pop off like ballons when pricked. The two main protagonists bumble their ways through the plot and through a will they/won't they love affair which seems to owe more to plot geometry than to character.
