It suffers from some of the typical teen lit trappings, such as shoehorned romance and fight scenes, its most eventful moments are often weakened through strange reversals, and it's highly inferior to the previous entry. That doesn't mean, however, that there's still not a great deal to enjoy, thanks largely to the heavy themes and multifaceted characters.
