Molly Foust reviewed Trap by Catherine Ryan Howard
Review of 'Trap' on 'Goodreads'
5 stars
So five stars might seem a generous rating for a thriller. And maybe it would not win a literary prize but please, yes a storyteller prize.
The pros:
-realistic, multi-dimensional characters, especially the victims
-absolutely masterful plotting
-twists like the head of an owl
-compelling psychological insight-nothing new, but well written and relatable to any woman
-a WTF but completely reasonable ending
-free of the irritating characters, implausible plot lines and pallid writing so often found in the genre
The cons:
-made me afraid of my own intuition
-do not read the last fifty pages before going to sleep
-if you are trying to cook pasta while reading it, it will likely be soggy
