Review of 'False Gods' on 'Goodreads'

A great continuation of the series, though not as strong as the first. Horus’ fall to chaos was a little too sudden and contrived. I mean, we all know Horus falls to Chaos, it shouldn’t be played as a “will he-won’t he?” Anyway, I liked this book as much the second time ‘round. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

The problem woth series that are written by varied authors is the difference in writing style and voice. This threw me off when I first started reading this second novel in the Horus Heresy. After a short while, that fell away. Graham McNeill pulled me back into the story of thw Warmaster's fall deftly, and the chronicle again revealed a depth only hinted at before, introducing mpre of the godlike Primarchs and other legions. Again, recommended, especially for fans of 40k, but a good bok on its own.
