Henry Huggins has been wishing for some excitement in his life. He never thought it would come in the form of a lost, hungry dog with big brown eyes begging for a taste of his ice cream cone.

Of course Henry shared his ice cream, and o course the dog followed Henry. But long before Henry reached home with "Ribsy," he had spent all his money, been put off three buses, and enjoyed a hair-raising ride in 'a police car. And that's just the beginning of Henry's exciting new life! --back cover

A grown ass woman can read Beverly Cleary any time she wants for a bit of nostalgia and escapism, and there's no better time to do it than the week Ms. Cleary turns 100 years old. Sometimes you can go home again and it doesn't suck. It's just as you remembered and it makes you happy on a cold rainy Monday. Now on to Henry and Beezus!
