Molly Foust reviewed Daughter of the forest by Juliet Marillier (Sevenwaters trilogy ;)
Review of 'Daughter of the forest' on 'Goodreads'
5 stars
This was one of the most fabulous fantasy novels I have read in a long time and I would put it in the top 20 of all the fantasy novels I have ever read. It is gripping, a fairy tale with more substance, at times grim but containing just enough matter-of-fact magic. The setting in Dark Ages Ireland was also appealing. It was well-paced, with a unique heroine who disappointed me only in her tireless self-sacrifice, which was a bit grating, but part of the fairy-tale element. Loved it, truly.
