A Russian spacecraft from the International Space Station returns to Earth carrying three passengers: one woman and two men. Could this be the end of Yorick's status as the last living male? Plus, the group runs up against a roadblock in Arizona where the female remains of the Sons of Arizona militia have cut the interstate to keep out any vestiges of the U.S. government. Collecting issues #11-23.

still going strong, a bit more varied and serious

Compared to the issues collected in Book One, the dialogue here is bit less jokey and forced (but I do appreciate the "What's your nationality?" sequence in the first set as I get that all the time). After twenty years, the political jabs still ring true (writing tip - leave out names and the current crop of politicians will fit in nicely), but my favorite line is the reference to KISS. As listed on the cover, more pencillers contributed (read the inside credits for all the contributors, inkers never get the glory), so there are a few sudden changes in art style, corresponding to markedly lighter and heavier tones. This series is longer than I remembered, so there are still a few more books to reread, but now I'm remembering why I read it straight through the first time.
