A paper about books about the invention of writing about knowledge
3 stars
This is a short and engaging text that conveys some basic hermetic ideas with a narrative framing device that makes it much more readable than similar texts. This text simplifies a lot of the concepts and makes them a little more approachable. Just as a warning to other readers, Hall uses a slur term for the Romani people and makes some romantic claims that they are originally from Egypt. While this is more motivated by ignorance than malice, it highlights that we should be aware of our own notions and cultural influences can impact even our sincere search for truth.
