Good account of the downfall and defeat of the spanish revolution

4 stars

A really good book about the CNT-Fai in the Spanish civil war with many lessons to draw from for radical non hierarchical movements. The main highlighted one being that the revolution was defeated not by Franco but by the collaborationist moves made by delegates who become members of the "popular front" and destroyed the revolution. Lessons to draw from are numerous but the crucial ones is to be stringent against governmentalism, to remain at war against the state and capitalism at all times and to avoid "influential" figures who gather power that's supposed to be mandated from the revolutionary mass.
