Jane has a full summer planned out with her friends—making YouTube videos, playing video games, watching movies—but her parents have other plans. In the beginning of their Great American Road Trip she's glued to her tablet, but eventually she comes around and realizes the wonders the outdoors has to offer. This book is pretty cute and seems like a good way to introduce the national parks to kids, showcasing a few of the most well-known. The best way to get kids excited to visit the outdoors is to actually go, but with this book, they can also see what other areas there are to explore and learn about. (There are also a few inside jokes for the adults reading—a text message that you may recognize as a song lyric and the "43" on the dad's golf bag, for just a couple examples.)
