"English ethologist, evolutionary biologist, and writer Richard Dawkins opens Chapter 2 of his bestseller The God Delusion by saying that the God of the Old Testament is "arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction" and goes on to list nineteen negative character traits. Now in God : the Most Unpleasant Character in All Fiction, Dan Barker, a former ordained minister and current atheist, proves that Dawkins was right."--Dust jacket.

I really only read 3/4 of this book, but it was primarily quotes from the Bible demonstrating the nastiness of God. Although I agree with that, the quotes from the Bible, although they do demonstrate "[the unpleasant [ness] of [the] character of God, I agree with it, but the series of quotes gets tedious – never mind that they are mostly the KJV, which is the least reliable translation around! I guess with the title like God: The Most Unpleasant Character in All Fiction, quotes from the Bible are the best way demonstrate the unpleasantness of God, still, a book of quotes is unnecessary and overblown. This should be an article, not a book. Certainly, the point is well validated, but without more than quotes, it's, as I indicated, superfluous.
