Walking is one of our favorite pastimes and one of the easiest-- and healthiest-- ways to explore the world. This volume features carefully selected scenic walks throughout the world in both natural and urban settings, and is the ideal guide to the world's most exhilarating walks, hikes, and views. Each entry provides essential details about a must-try walk, including start and finish points, overall distance, difficulty rating, maps, and likely duration.

Good for an inspiring read

2 stars

You can get great inspiration for where to hike next in this voluminous book about hikes around the world. The hikes are sorted by type of walk, like heritage, coastal, mountain, overland. But the historical information given is simply often inaccurate. For example, the authors talk about "industry" in the Inka empire, which is simply historically false.
