Review of 'Nemesis' on 'Goodreads'

After being disappointed with the first Harry Hole book I was cheered to find readers saying "they do improve". I've not seen any improvement yet. A protagonist who constantly breaks the rules is one thing; a protagonist who does so arbitrarily is another. Meandering plots can be fine; meandering plots that fail to establish a clear narrative arc, not so much. I'll eventually pick up the next one in the hope that it signals the beginning of an upward trend, but not for quite some time, I think.
