Genesis

This book is an interesting idea, but it has gaps.

So this in it's most obvious form is things like not describing anything about the world, either from a tactical perspective, or from a "we're on a freaking new plannet" perspective. This replicates in other scenes too, so we get, for example a training scene where the main character raises their eyebrow, and we read the cadets had dreaded that eyebrow being raised. This was the first time that it happened, it's never referenced again.

Generic action hero dude type story. No real focus on tactics or anything like that.
