The novel is set in a world ruled by intelligent animals who control humans, to prevent these from ruining the world again. It is an ok read, but not very well written: most of the time, I had the impression of reading a re-narration. The characters' feelings and motives were also not relatable. I got the impression that the author knew what she wanted to do but didn't know how to do it in an elegant way, so she had to use a sledgehammer. For example, the main character instantly becomes enemies with another character, and they just as quickly become best friends.
