If you’re interested in a high-level read on all the weird, dark niches of the internet, this is a great read.
This is an excellent primer on what the Internet is in circa 2014 to 2016. While the book does cover the Dark Net as a chapter, it also looks at other aspects of today's Internet, including Bitcoin and Trans-Humanism. It also covers some of the dark parts of the Internet like racism, sexism, and child pornography, most of which is quite disturbing. It definitely gives you a sense of the various contemporary forces on the Internet today and their historical sources. Overall, this is a very good book and I enjoyed listening to it as an audiobook. The narrator was well-chosen and his reading pace was enjoyable.
Fascinating topic, well researched, and strange. Definitely, want to learn more about the Dark Web and its repercussions.
