I really enjoyed this modern-day PERSUASION with a mystery twist, until the very end. Suddenly, with no warning, the author interjected a religious aspect out of nowhere and it was very jarring. The book would have been stronger/better without it, or if it had been part of the character all along.
The author seems to have a weird obsession with people's weight, their fat in particular. there were moments of observation and dialogue that pulled me out of the story, but overall a fun murder -mystery.
