The dread I felt when I read the disclaimer at the beginning about passages being repeated from the first volume was replaced with confusion when I realized that each chapter was self-contained and jumping around in the timeline. Apparently these are all the bonus snippets from the web version that had yet to be officially printed. The stories can be summarized as follows:
- A Real Villainess Appears
- The Reason Why It’s Hard To Recommend This Series To People
- Alan Likes Legs
- Nicol’s Speed Dating Misadventures
- The Magical Ministry is a Black Company
- Harold, They’re Lesbians
- Everyone Loves Katarina Side Character Roundup
I’m not sure why this was marked as a chronological volume and not as “side story collection” or something similar. Because of that, I don’t think I had the right mindset going into this volume. I was expecting the start of a new plot arc, not side character interludes. …
