Review of 'Dry Bones' on 'Goodreads'
2 stars
It was a close-run thing. I nearly stopped reading this halfway through, and had to grit my teeth to get to the end. I've read earlier (China series) and later (Lewis series) books by Peter May and generally found them enjoyable light reading. This, though, with its tenuous clues and implausible plot devices; this was hard work, although it might have made a good young adults read with a little less explicit sex. Suspension of disbelief is a necessary article in the treaty between author and reader; suspension of intelligence significantly more difficult to accept.
