Review of 'Last Skies Afire' on 'Goodreads'
I'm the author! No stars from me.
This book contains moments I've been mulling over and imagining in my head for five years; and it also contains moments that suddenly struck me a month before I published it. It contains things I try to explain as best I can, and things I think shouldn't be explained at all. This series, as a writing project, has outlasted every job, relationship, home, and life situation I was in when I started it. It's a strange feeling, for it to be over.

It's not been a perfect ride - on the contrary, writing Digitesque has been a constant struggle of learning to identify the flaws and lacunae in my writing while still also remaining firmly self-indulgent of all the ideas and tropes and concepts and images I find compelling. But I decided when I began that if I was going to push myself to finally publish my writing in any shared space, I wanted to go all-out with things that caught my imagination. And I think I did. In writing this I've had spectacular and crushing and giddying and heartwarming feelings spark and catch fire in my head, and I've done the best I could to put them to words and structures on digital pages.
I did my best. As I believe both Ada and Isavel have said, in gist if not in as many words, our best may not always be enough. But it'll have to do.
