Review of 'The best of Roald Dahl' on 'Goodreads'

If you like Roald Dahl, don't read this. Switch Bitch is described in the blurb as "four tales of seduction and suspense". Sure, there's suspense and plot twists, but there is no seduction. Only one of the stories can really be said to involve a seduction, and the seductive techniques described are literally "I just have this way of talking to women that make them want to sleep with me". And all the male characters are awful misogynists, and even when the twists involve them getting their comeuppance it's still at the expense of the women in the stories.

And even if you're fine with setting your brain on "mid 20th century misogynist" they are still not very good stories, even if beautifully written, and you also have to set your brain to "mid 20th century standards for entertainment".

So just skip them. You'll be happier that way.
