When an imperial family is found butchered, Officers of God are called to investigate. Evidence points to a rebel group trying to stab fear into the very heart of the empire. Inspector Khlid begins a harrowing hunt for those responsible, but when a larger conspiracy comes to light, she struggles to trust even the officers around her.

Review of 'Breach of Peace' on 'Goodreads'

This book felt fine. The only real complaint I had was that for the majority of the story there wasn't a lot of investment. There was a plot, but against who? There are some character conflicts, but I feel like I don't understand them.

A lot of my confusion and lack of investment was solved in the next book of the series, but as a prologue/intro to the world, I really would have like some extra reasons to be invested.
