Disclaimer: I bought this book second hand in order not to support Rowling financially. Her stance on people who are trans is appalling.
I guess we can all agree that the Fantastic Beasts series is a hot mess. There are too many inaccuracies not only concerning Rowling's Wizarding World in general but also the series in particular (Queenie's character is extremely inconsistent for example). Too many actors have had too many scandals. And the overuse of CGI made the films look a lot less magical than the Harry Potter ones. But "The Secrets of Dumbleodre" was a step in the right direction and it could have set up a satisfying ending. Yes, a lot of details didn't make sense (yet?) in regards to what we know from the original HP seires. But I think that everything might have come together nicely in the last film/s.

Even the screenplay is more engaging this time around. You're not only given the text but also insight from the actors, location renderings and character sketches. Again no extra scenes, though. It's a nice read if you're a collector/completionist but otherwise you could just skip it.
