Absolutely fascinating. There is clearly a need for more research into this area. Tough I don't understand why anyone would want to use DMT in a recreational way. From the descriptions of the experiences in this book it can provide deep insights and personal understanding of ones own self but you have to go through hell to get them. (alligator rape?!)
I am a little surprised he ventured outside the realm of science to make what I'm sure many scientists consider to be speculation at best when he suggests the possibility of connecting to other civilizations while under the influence of DMT. To me the more interesting question is why so many people have such strikingly similar experiences compared to that of other psychedelics. He also chose not to use fMRI during his studies but I would think that level of imaging could provide a lot of data around what …
