Forest of Enchantments

I don't know anything about the source material (and this actually made me curious to seek it out, now), but I greatly enjoyed this book. The writing style especially was very lyrical and descriptive, and I had a hard time putting this book down. The only thing preventing me from giving it a full five stars was the ending, and that even may be due to the source material.

True to her word Chitra has given voice not just to Sita but also to lesser known characters like Urmila,Tara etc...
Ramayana itself is poetic and depressing and as usual Chitra has done a good job in bringing out the poetry and tragedy.
