I see from GoodReads that this is the 0th book featuring David Ryker as protagonist, so perhaps some of my reservations would be eased if I read some of the others in the series. I quite enjoyed it, but at times it seemed melodramatic, and the reactions of some of the characters to events seemed over the top.

There are also problems in that there doesn't seem to have been time for the characters to do all the things that they are said to have done. As in [b:The Da Vinci Code|968|The Da Vinci Code (Robert Langdon, #2)|Dan Brown|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1579621267l/968.SY75.jpg|2982101] the characters seem to miss obvious clues that seem to fall within their areas of expertise, and rush of to take a course of action that seems to miss the obvious one.
