The Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller!

What is wrong meets what feels right in this romance set in Italy by the New York Times bestselling author of Deep End.

It’s such a cliché, it almost makes her heart implode: older man and younger woman; successful biotech guy and struggling grad student; brother’s best friend and the girl he never even knew existed. As Conor loves to remind her, the power dynamic is too imbalanced. Any relationship between them would be problematic in too many ways to count, and Maya should just get over him. Unrealistic but hit at the right time and place for me

This review fully gets an extra star solely because of my recent affection for air conditioner fics on ao3. The thing is, nobody, NOBODY, talks about age as much as the people in this book. It's weird. It's jarring. The pining is great (although a little more on-page "Daddy" would have been appreciated) but definitely goes past the point of "just talk to each other" and full on into "just talk to a therapist." Add to that a weird heavy lean on memes that were incredibly current and short-lived (there was a reference to "how often does your boyfriend think about the Roman Empire") and I'd say this is a good one to read from the library but probably not one worth revisiting later.
