Karima Joy reviewed Jesus and the Powers by N. T. Wright

3.5. The book made many good points, roughly covering the most important questions of political theology (I guess). And it was really encouraging to engage more politically which I appreciated. It also referred to various partly diverging interpretations, in the Bible and church history.
But it was not thorough enough in its argumentation at times and often remained too abstract in my view, avoiding discussion of the actually tricky questions like: Where does pushing for “Christian” views in politics is starting to be hegemony or still building for the kingdom in a framework of liberal democracy? To what extent should churches warn against extreme parties? Etc.
