At the end of Compass South, twins Cleo and Alex were been reunited with their father, Mr. Dodge, on the ship Anita after a battle with the pirate Worley. Now, Cleo explains to Dodge and Alex that the pocket knife and pocket watch they have are keys to a treasure. So begins Knife's Edge, the second installment in Hope Larson's Four Points series another high-speed story of treasure, family, and of course adventure on the high seas.

I had so much fun reading Compass South that I was a little disappointed in Knife's Edge. Mock's illustrations are as beautiful as last time, but Larson's plot stuttered a bit. I felt that one of the leads was neglected while the other retread the same ground as in Compass South, and I couldn't get behind the romance at all knowing what happened in the last graphic novel. On top of the that, a very important plot point that could have taken up its own book was crammed into the final pages. It's still a beautiful read, but I wish this nautical series had sailed straight.
