Padmé is unsure about taking on the new role, but cannot turn down the request to serve her people. Together with her most loyal handmaidens, Padmé must figure out how to navigate the treacherous waters of politics and forge a new identity beyond the queen's shadow.

Not much to say. A fairly average YA political space opera. I enjoyed getting to see Padmes transition from queen to senator and how she adapted to the different scale of galactic politics and building start of what would become the rebel alliance.

This was rather good and interesting - to put it simply, it shows her transition from Queen to Senator and everything we know she is like as a senator. It isn't an action packed, weapons exploding everywhere kind of book; it's her mental (and even dress-looks as well) transition as she figures out who she is personally (where is Padme, when Amidala comes out), what she wants from her life (at least right now), and how she gets to that next phase. Plus we see how she began the relationships in her life that become very important later - Bail Organa, Mon Mothma and the like. Plus the bonus is with the audiobook, the Clone Wars voice of Padme is reading it. :)
