I listened to this book because I find that a lot of my clients are wrestling with the idea of "enough" and trying to find a new way to organize their thinking around finances, and I wondered if this book would be useful. In short: yes. This book should be required reading for graduates starting their first job who aspire to be financially independent one day. A lot of what she lays out is common sense, and I can't imagine anyone actually DOING all the activities she outlines (I mean, I love spreadsheets but there is no way I am going to inventory every single item in my house), but the real value in this book is the philosophy she outlines. Many books about money implicitly assume that money is everything, but this book downplays money, buying and consuming, thoughtfully placing these things in a larger life context. The practical advice for saving and spending is excellent. Their method of forcing you to confront the individual life choices you are making by means of day-to-day spending decisions will likely be an eye-opener.
