As much as I love the comic anthology format, I don't think that historical fiction and biography are a great fit for it. They require so much context to accurately and effectively engage with history that they're extremely difficult to fit in a few short pages, especially with a limited amount of text. While there were some stories in this book that managed to work despite the difficulty, most were merely fine.

(All this said, I'm really glad a book like this exists. One major meta-literary advantage of the comic anthology format is that it provides an opportunity for many different artists to publish in a paid, widely-read setting. That's worth celebrating in its own right.)
