Desperate Hours

I still haven't caught up with Discovery, given I'd have to get it on DVD to watch it all, but I know something of the bare-bones idea behind the series or some of the characters. And I don't know if the novels for the show are canon or not, but still, since I had the audios, and I was looking for something different this past week to listen to, I figured to give it a try.

I liked it. I just took the story as it was presented, since I just am not really sure how the characters that were used here are in the show or since this is a prequel story of sorts, what events have been referred to in the episodes or not. But it was an interesting story with seeing this woman who started out raised human then mostly being raised by vulcans now is trying to be human again, while being in the middle of this mission. Spock shows up, and the whole thing with Burnham being raised by Sarek is still odd to me, but then I'm only of those few that liked Star Trek V where Spock gets a half-brother, so having a foster sisters shouldn't be to me, I guess. LOL Saru's interesting - definitely something different with the look into his alien species being prey and how he tries to tamper down the innate fear and prey instincts. But most of all, I certainly hope that Georgiou is just like that in the series because I like her style, how she commands the ship and mission, and goes up again Pike when needed. Oh, and getting the Enterprise without Kirk is a good thing every once in a while.
