This is a brave and uncompromising outline of where our political and economic development must go for our nation and globe to adapt to and mitigate environmental changes and population growth. I hope every public representative in the world reads this.

[author: Jeffrey Sachs] picks up from where his [book: The End of Poverty] left off, and extends his macroeconomic perspective to the challenges of climate change, population growth, and environmental devastation. He firmly lays waste to the ideological myths of free market capitalism, and lays down a clear agenda for forwarding the UN Millenium Development Goals.

This book wastes no time on frills: its language is clear and concise, and its statistical maps and graphs are easily decipherable and effective.
