A gorgeous landmark of an achievement. Tezuka’s style blends the cuddly with the macabre so masterfully. There are panels in this series that’ll surprise you with how drop-dead gorgeous they are.

I could say a lot about the reveal that Dororo is trans. That isn’t me putting a modern term to it. Dororo is undeniably trans, and he remains true to his conviction to the bitter end. It’s done remarkably well at times and horribly in others.

Much like his "Buddha" series, this one is just as entertaining and a great story. Backing up a good story is a fantastically simple and deep drawing style.
