It’s now a well-known fact that the Russians influenced the 2016 election (and continue trying to undermine U.S. democracy), but following along as government and security officials first learned it was happening is a fascinating journey. I’m glad this book was written for the sake of history, but for those of us living through it, it’s a little too detail-heavy. I read about most of these events when they happened or were revealed, so while this book collects all the stories in one place, I’m not sure it adds anything new for contemporary readers. In 20 years, however, it will be riveting reading for the next generation.
