Review of 'How Much for Just the Planet?' on 'Storygraph'

Faithful to Star Trek lore? Eh… This book hasn't aged quite as well as some other elements of the franchise. Even discounting that, it does play fast and loose with the continuity that had been established by that point. The plot, such as it is, is also rather strained and difficult to follow at points. But it is hilarious. The jokes come fast and furious, and the characters are uniformly entertaining. This is admittedly not the high-minded allegory that Star Trek so often excels at, but fans looking for a quick laugh will be hard-pressed to find a more entertainingly silly read.

Omigod. It's a perfectly mad farce, and a musical. I long for an audiobook version, but they'd never be able to afford the rights to the tunes for all the songs. I hunted this book down because of Teresa Nielsen Hayden's review, and she hit the nail on the head perfectly:[return][return]http://www.amazon.com/review/R1QNO7TN5B8ULE/ref=cm_srch_res_rtr_alt_1
