Review of 'The Project' on 'Goodreads'

I really wanted to like this book... it was dark, had an interesting premise, and – let's be honest – who isn't fascinated by cults?

Unfortunately, after a better-than-average start, this book jumped the shark for me... I won't share spoilers, but I will say that after what seemed like a reasonable and realistic first half, the second half descended into darkness abruptly, with some of the characters' decisions (and story lines) feeling very flimsy.

Review of 'The Project' on 'Goodreads'

Going into this book I hoped to learn more about cults. And in the end, I still don't know how anybody could be attracted to a community like the Unity Project. Everybody knows that it's all nice and fluffy on the outside and a whole bunch of awfulness on the inside.

The rest of the story was okay but I didn't care for any of the characters. The jumps in time were all over the place and especially in the last third very confusing.

If you only plan on reading one book by Courtney Summers, you should go for "Sadie".
